This past weekend Ashley and I finally got to reunite! It’s been a long time, and thank goodness for this blog because honestly, it keeps us connected even though we’re not living in the same city. Moving is definitely tough! I am really happy where Dan and I live now and what we’re up to, plus we’ve met a lot of great people and are involved in more than we ever were before. But, of course that also means we left a lot behind in our past “lives” in Madison and Minneapolis and even in Wausau. There’s nothing like being with your best friends for a few days to make one realize how truly lucky you can be! I love my friends and even though we are now a few hours apart and don’t talk all the time, it was so refreshing this weekend to get together, chat, snack, dance, and the best part, was that it didn’t seem like months had passed since we all got together.
On Friday I got to stop by and see my best friend since kindergarten, Kallie, and her husband, dog, and their new baby who is the cutest thing EVER! He may have thrown up on me but I don’t care, he’s too cute with his little gum smile to even get mad.

Once the girls from Madison finally arrived on Friday we were up to our usual antics – snacking, chatting, and watching reality TV. Since we are grown-ups now
our usual sleepovers are no longer all-nighters, it was lights out by about 11pm. Hey, we’re working women! Saturday was a nice relaxing day filled with all the joys of Wausau – which means the mall (hello, packer store!) and coffee downtown. It was Wausau Fest so we got to do some prime people watching in Washington Square. We also ate all of our meals at home this weekend which meant saving some money and calories, woo hoo! We made turkey burgers, chicken brats, and chicken breasts for dinner along with the most delicious salad, brown beans, and some chips. The salad looked like Christmas, but I forgot to take a picture – dang! Recipe for the delicious sweet raspberry vinaigrette to come….
Saturday night meant what else, but of course, THE BAR. My parents dropped us off (ok this makes me laugh every time, my mom and dad driving a group of 20 something’s to the bar on a Saturday night) and per usual, the night was off to a great start. The folks of Wausau were out in full force and the bar was already hoppin’ at 10:00. As my mom said, it’s Wausau, the bars are always hopping. Unfortunately the DJ was not up to par this specific evening so there was little dancing to be had. But, have no fear, no dancing just meant more time for DTF napkin….
Sunday everyone peaced out pretty early because of the fun freezing rain and snow headed our way, so I was back home by about 11am which gave me a lot of day. I spent most of the afternoon hanging with Dan and our cats and getting stuff ready for the week. We also went to look at some houses, which was a lot of fun (even in the crap weather!).

Last night I had this Dove wrapper which was kind of what I needed to hear, it’s been a weird couple of weeks and I’m finding new ways to stay positive and cheered up, and one of those ways is reading positive affirmations online, in books, and obviously on Dove wrappers.
How was everyone else’s weekends?
